A decoração interna do edifício foi criada, com pinturas e esculturas apresentando a história do Brasil no Saguão, Escadaria e Salão Nobre.
Também foi inaugurado o Museu Republicano "Convenção de Itú", extensão do Museu Paulista no interior paulista.
Ao longo do tempo, houve uma série de transferências de acervos de outras instituições.
Small objects are usually easier to examine and enjoy than very large sculptures and very long murals. In particular the porcelain is delicate and the horses are impressive.
